Cena je udílena v několika kategoriích organizací „The European Science Fiction Society“. Tato organizace byla založena v roce 1972 na prvním Euroconu v Trieste v Itálii. Jedná se o organizaci, která sdružuje profesionály i fanoušky působící na poli sci – fi a jejímž cílem je propagovat sci – fi v Evropě a evropskou sci -fi po celém světě.
